When the Danes besieged Paris, the French asked to negotiate with their leader. The French asked which nobleman was in charge. The Danes replied “We are all equal.”
Those Danes had a great Heathen attitude.
I realize some groups such as Theod and the Ring of Troth have titles and ranks. They do not speak for all of Heathenism. For the overwhelming majority of us, there are no grades or ranks. There is no hierarchy. We do not have to follow a path of attainment that requires an ascending sequence of tasks and tests. We are all equal.
