[Snip] I have noticed that with schools who have grades and time factors, an occasional problem comes with people who try to get the title without waiting the full amount of time. This is known as “rushing the grades.” There are various reasons for doing it. I get the impression that no matter how well-intentioned it is , there are always some kind of problems. Half the time, the problem is a matter of ego.
Back when both the martial arts and Paganism were becoming popular, the headquarters of these various groups tried to meet the needs. They did not have enough fully-qualified teachers to send, so they hastily taught some nearly-qualified people to send to meet the need until more qualified teachers could be prepared. This happened in Wicca, karate, ninjutsu and at least one school of Ceremonial magick. These impromptu teachers had the authority of a fully-qualified person, but neither the experience nor the education.
You can see the problem of a person having authority he really has not earned. Throw in an occasional bout of ego and things happen.
