Stephanie Sturzo was just coming out of a lengthy illness when she felt drawn to stop in at the Equine Protection of North America barn on Old Hedding Road a few years ago. The four-year illness had left Sturzo tired and rundown. With her youngest daughter now in school, Sturzo knew she had to do something, if only for a few hours a day.
A lifelong horse lover, she had heard about the new horse rescue operation and thought it was something she might enjoy. She spent two hours at the EPONA barn the first day, then went home and slept for three hours.
