Witches celebrate Halloween

A WITCH has defended holding a chanting ritual with fellow witches and druids in the city, saying Halloween is one of the most important dates in the pagan calendar. Halloween is the Pagan New Year and a time when pagan followers remember the dead.

The Norwich Chant Collective, which has been going for five years, met last night in the Alec Bussey Centre, Rowington Road, to chant and remember their ancestors by throwing their names into a cauldron. Witches, wiccans, druids and healers were among those taking part. Leader of the group Gee Dunn, a priestess and witch, said “It’s people from all walks of life coming together to experience chanting. We are a community that has gradually built up over the years.
