How to create a creepy pumpkin carving

Some people can take a brush, some paint and a canvas and make art — just like some people can take a knife, a scraper and a pumpkin and make a frighteningly good jack o’ lantern. But the rest of us, the ones who can only brush out a landscape with some paint-by-numbers assistance, need a little Halloween help. And that help comes in the form of patterns.

There are common images: a wolf howling at the moon, a witch on a broom, a hideous face with jutting teeth. But we wanted to give you something different. Something you won’t find in a pattern book. Something fun and something that says “Seattle.”
