Dead Sea scrolls draw crowd at RMC

The Dead Sea Scrolls help link Judaism and Christianity, an expert on the ancient scrolls told a standing-room-only crowd Friday afternoon.

Though the two religions contain “big theological differences, it doesn’t mean we can’t recognize our common roots,” Adolfo Roitman said during a lecture at Rocky Mountain College.

Roitman, a rabbi, is director of the Shrine of the Book and curator of the Dead Sea Scrolls at Israel Museum in Jerusalem. His talk was in conjunction with an exhibit at the Yellowstone Art Museum titled “Bethsaida: Life Revealed in the Layers.”
