Fire on the Mountain organizer says the spirit behind relief concert left him ‘breathless’

By David Wylie

Tracey Jackman cried as he watched 20,000 people pack a Kamloops parking lot to watch about a dozen mainstream Canadian bands rock for B.C.’s fire victims.

Jackman’s Louis Creek home was destroyed in the Barriere fire last month. He said the concert was a welcome break from fighting with his insurance company.

The fire victim watched the passionate performances from a 100-seat VIP section near the front of the stage, where he sat with other devastated home owners, firefighters and Canadian soldiers.
